AUCKLAND HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2024

The Town Hall Organ Reflects its Pacific Environment

Dating form 300BCE, the pipe organ is the world’s oldest keyboard instrument, and the Auckland Town Hall Organ is home to Aotearoa’s largest and most up to date version of this ancient instrument.

Come along for a sonic journey through the organ’s long history, with sounds from a variety of cultures including Māori and Pacific peoples.

Date: Sunday  6 October

Time: 3 -4pm

Place: Auckland Town Hall

Entry: Free via stage door in Grey’s Avenue.   

 

Concerts are all free, but will require tickets.

Navigate wheelchair and mobility-impaired pathways through the Auckland Town Hall’s Baroque-style interiors to seating in the Great Hall.

Step counts along the way, along with elevator access, floor plans, and pathways to the box office, public toilets and the bar offer an enhanced and fulsome experience of the Auckland Council A and Category 1 Heritage NZ listed building.
